vox populi vox dei ("voice of people is the voice of God")That probably sums up a pretty uneventful week that i've been subjected to.
NYJC 2-0 TPJC
it would be shamefully easy to fit the differing fortunes of TPJC soccer and NYJC into the predictable rhetorical categories of, respectively, extreme disappointment and huge elation.
No, that's too easy, and incorrect. Because NYJC's triumphant and our singular colllapse at JJC on Tuesday were first of all connected, judging from a general reaction overheard among everyday people in school, whats more the team, by the fact that complacency had indeed bear fruit. Indeed many have built an exaggerated facade of expectations harbouring around TPJC soccer.
Fortuitous as many viewed it to be, I, for once, condemned this very sentiment . Partly because I genuinely believe that we've got it all wrong right from the beginning and I could have well sense the hubris of some judging from personal experience. In all honesty, I'd like to see this as a blessing in disguise for us in future games to come. Hopefully we can finally distance ourselves from pessimism to reality.
As for me, my performance has been no more than utter rubbish eversince donning the TPJC soccer shirt. Often being on the receiving end of such diatribe every week, i've always failed to perform outside the confinements of recreational soccer where composure and mental grit is a norm.
In any case, i think i talk to much.
Wow…more than a week or two since I last wrote anything here. Amazing. I will endeavour to do more.
