So Singapore played Malaysia in the second leg of the ASEAN cup semi-final tonight. Those Singaporeans among us who didnt watch it should be ashmaedof yourself. Sure, the quality of football was kind of dodgy but then again, isn't that what makes ASEAN football worth watching?
I remember an S-League game once where the ball went out ofplay and rolled into a drain. There was no replacement ball which magically appeared on the pitch. Instead, the players (and ref) all huddled around the drain while a plucky ball boy fished it out. Suddenly, the players weren't professional soccer players- they were just guys out of thier kampong, kicking a ball around. Perhaps this is the magic of kampong soccer.
Sure, the guys on the pitch are much better than i'll ever be, but the fact that they aren't all that fantastic gives you a strange sort of ownership.
I felt like its my patriotic duty to tune in but damn it, i know that it's probably going to be boring as hell.
Anyways, this is why i hate reading all the articles in newsweek
down with war!
i hate wars and i hate war news. i also hate studying about wars. i hate anything war-related.
i was born in the late 80s and was lucky enough not to experience war.
but these days, you read the news and all you see is war and violence.
Stupid George Bush and his warring ways. Okay, so he said that the Iraqi war is 'over'. But is it really? Huh huh huh? Let's park his ass in Iraq for a month and we'll see if he changes his mind.
I watched a downloaded(oops) Oprah episode the other day about a baby shower she threw for the wives of the US soldiers. I had to stop halfway because it made me sad. It must be very depressing to give birth without your husband to bite on when you're in pain. Why were the husbands not there, you wonder? Because they were out to war. A war instigated by stupid Furby Man who deserves to be kicked in the ass.
AH. Such FURY. All from reading the news.
