let's be patriotic, shall we?

Heider celebrates her nation's 41st birthday tomorrow!
i'm not usually this excited about National Day but they're having fireworks display at Marina Bay this year! So exciting! I've never watched fireworks before (quite sad, I know). Usually I watch the high-level ones from my balcony when they have the parade at the National Stadium but that's just not fun.

This year I'll be at Marina Bay with my guys and then we'll be heading to Stadium to watch the parade and the fireworks. I do realize that I'll be caught in an ocean of makciks, aunties, minahs, mats and the likes but just for one day, I will not make fun of them because we are all Singaporeans after all.

ahem. I'd break into a National Day song right now but I should try to restrain myself, eh.

In the spirit of patriotism (although, I must admit that it seems like they are trying to brainwash us with seemingly nationalistic propaganda. gasp!), the LED boards on the expressways all read "Singapore celebrates - Wear Red"

And wear red, you shall, oh you faithful readers of my blog! I hate red tops but I'll wear one because the LED boards say so. And you should too.

We should all follow the footsteps of these cabbies too, flying the Singapore flag oh so proudly on their cabs:
